FUND RAISING:
Fund raising is progressing but more funds are needed to complete the actual construction of the orphanage. We have received just over 50% needed to construct the first phase which consists of a security fence and four wings of the orphanage. The orphanage will need funds to operate the orphanage for food, clothing, etc. We have received a letter from a private foundation which has pledging 18 months of full support for the Foyer De Sion after we get the new building up and running, with a pledge that if we give a good accounting of how we used their funds at the end of 18 months, more may be pledged for future years. The big need now is to raise the other 50% needed to actually complete the building.

PROGRESS ON CONSTRUCTION:
Much of the foundation has been dug and the sewer work has started. For security reasons, an eight foot wall needs to be build around the 2 plus acres to protect the construction of the buildings and later as security for the children and the vegetable gardens, etc. The footings for this large security wall (fence) have been completed in preparation for the wall and main entrance gate.

VOLUNTEERS:
In order to reduce construction costs, we are going to build the eight foot wall with volunteer help from the US. The wall will be constructed starting June 1st and hopefully completed by June 18th. We have 69 people (fathers and sons and other family members from several states) who have purchased airline tickets and confirmed the days they will be on site to help with this construction. Seventy-five have signed up but some are still trying to get tickets.

THE NEED GROWS DAILY:
In addition to the 25 plus children living at the current 800 square foot orphanage, there are another 18 living temporarily in other homes waiting for an opening in the Foyer de Sion orphanage. This is in addition to an average of 3 children every 2 days that request admittance to the orphanage. Once we have them located in the orphanage we can commence placing them out for adoption. Placement happens on a regular basis but the need for temporary care (housing, food, medical needs, etc.) at the orphanage is far greater than space allows; thus our urgent need for your donations for these poor children. Remember that 100% of your contribution goes to the needs of the children with nothing used for salaries or overhead under our current charter.
